By Public Transport -
Taxi ranks are located outside the arrivals terminal at Bangkok International Airport. You'll need to grab a number and wait for it to be called - ignore all the touts offering you rides in the meantime (you might not end up at your destination, and have to pay more for the privilege!). There is a 50 baht airport surcharge, and make sure the meter is on once you start driving away - don't bother agreeing to a set price, it's generally not worth your while.
By Airport Shuttle -
Get onboard the Airport Express (route 2) and be whisked away to the Banglamphu area. A ticket will cost about 150 baht per person, and the route finishes at Khaosan Road. From there, it's just a short walk to the Royal Hotel.
