Ocean Drive is the place to be and to be seen. Jog, bike or roller blade along the beach promenade; drive down to the Keys or dine out in Coconut grove. Get ready to party!!!

Getting There
Airport ( MIA ) - 12 miles west of Downtown Miami

The cheapest option is the 'J' Metrobus, located outside the lower level of the arrivals building. It ends at 42nd Street where you can transfer to the C or H bus to South Beach / Miami Beach. Approx cost $1.75 one way.

From the 13th December 2009 Miami will be launching a new bus route connecting Miami International and South Beach. It is called the "Airport Beach Flyer Route" and is a direct express service with only one stop at Earlington Heights Metro Station. The cost is $2.70 and will take about 30 minutes.
Passengers going downtown can change at Earlington Heights.

STA recommends booking a Super Shuttle transfer (available through STAy). 
You will be in South Beach in less than 30 minutes - depending on traffic! Approx cost $19

Getting Around
Miami is a huge Metropolis comprising various neighbourhoods such as Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Little Havana and Little Haiti. All the STA Travel properties are situated on Miami Beach/ South Beach, which is where all the bars and nightlife it to be found. Downtown Miami is situated on the mainland in the financial and business area. 

Metrobuses are generally the best way to get around. Fares are 1.25 USD o/w. Exact fare is required. The Metromover is an elevated electric monorail that does a 42-mile loop around downtown Miami for FREE. Take advantage of the excellent views of Biscayne Bay and the city, especially at sunset

If you plan on using the bus a few times, we recommend you buy a roll of 10 tokens for approx. 10 USD. You can purchase these from Metro - Dade transit at Government Centre Station downtown.
