About Prague:
The Jewel of Central Europe, Prague is a truly stunning city, with it's picturesque Old Town, narrow cobbled streets opening into beautiful squares, imposing Castle, medieval Charles Bridge and Jewish Quarter. Check out the back street wine bars, order a cheap beer, and discover hidden Baroque gardens in Mala Strana and take a ride up into the hills on a funicular to see the rooftops of this fascinating city.
Getting There:
Prague Ruzyne Airport (PRG) is 20 km north west of the centre.
Taxi - Journey time from PRG to city centre 25-30 minutes. Cost approx. 300kc
Bus - Bus 119 runs between the airport and Dejvicka metro station (green line A) every 20 minutes. From here, you can take the metro into the centre of town. Buy your ticket from the orange ticket machines. International trains arrive either at Hlavni Nadrazi (central station) or Praha-Holesovice (north of river). From Hlavni Nadrazi you can take the metro (red line C) to your destination or walk (5 mins from Wenceslas Square). From Holesovice station you can take the metro (red line C) and change where necessary.
Getting Around:
Prague is easy to get around on foot. This is the only way to see the Old Town.
The metro (underground / subway) has 3 lines (A - green, B - yellow, C - red). It's useful for crossing the city. Tickets cost 8kc for a single journey and can be purchased from news stands or metro stations. Purchase daily or weekly travel cards from the Prague Tourist Information Centre.
There's also a good tram and bus network.
